Recalibrate – Gender Equity Awards Australia is open to individuals and companies in Australia recognizing and celebrating individuals, organizations, and initiatives that champion gender equity and inclusivity in the workplace.

 Who can be nominated?

  • Can I nominate someone or a company for the Recalibrate – Gender Equity Awards?
    • Yes, individuals and companies in Australia can be nominated.
  • What are the categories for individuals and companies?
    • Categories for individuals include Employee, Diversity & Inclusion Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, CEO / Board Member.
    • Categories for companies include SMEs with <100 Employees, SMEs with 101 to 500 Employees, Organizations with 501 to 1500 Employees, Organizations with 1501+ Employees, First Nations Businesses, and Intersectional Businesses.

Eligibility

  • What are the eligibility criteria for individuals and organisations?
    • Individuals must be working in Australia and demonstrate behaviours supporting gender equality.
    • Organizations must be registered in Australia and willing to respond to questions based on the WGEA Framework.
  • Can a previously nominated or awarded individual or company be nominated again?
    • Yes, previous nominees or awardees are eligible for re-nomination.

Nomination Process

  • When can I nominate someone?
    • Nominations for 2024 are open now and will close on 31 July 2024.
  • How do I nominate someone?
    • Nominating is easy and involves completing a short questionnaire.
  • What information do I need to complete a nomination?
    • Information required for a nomination includes:
      • Your name, contact email, and phone number.
      • Nominee’s name or contact person (if nominating a company), contact email, and phone number.
      • Category being nominated for.
      • A brief outline explaining why they should be nominated.
      • Confirmation of behaviours specific to gender equality.
  • What can I do to give the person I am nominating the best chance to be recognised?
    • Recalibrate – Gender Equity Awards Australia is merit-based. Encourage the nominee to confirm the nomination and provide additional information to support their nomination.
  • What happens after I submit a nomination?
    • The nominee will be informed of their nomination and asked to confirm it by completing a questionnaire showcasing actions taken for gender equality. The independent judging panel will review the information provided and score each nominee.

    • How can we find out who nominated us  and for what?
    • To maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the nomination process, details about who nominated you and the contents of the nomination are not disclosed. However, it’s important to note that the judging process is based on the nomination confirmation rather than the original nomination itself. This ensures accuracy and fairness in the evaluation.
  • Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of winning?
    • Ensure your responses are detailed, well-articulated, and directly address the criteria outlined for the award. Highlight the impact of your efforts and provide evidence where possible.
  • Will there be an opportunity for me to provide additional information beyond the questionnaire?
